The Santro, Korean carmaker’s iconic car is all set to make a comeback, back to Indian roads. With its launch just around the corner, it is creating a lot of buzz among the people. Come October 23 and Hyundai India will finally launch the Hyundai Santro 2018 across the country. The previous iterations of the hatchback have accounted for massive sales.Here are five things to know about the car before purchasing it:

- Return Of Santro Name
The new Hyundai Santro 2018 is expected to keep the iconic nameplate of its predecessor which become a household name rivaling the Maruti 800. However, the new name will have a suffix added to it, like in the case of old Santro Xing.
- India Will Be The First Market
Before hitting any other markets, the upcoming Santro will first arrive in India. It is expected that the sale of the new car in other South Asian countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka, but only after it launches in India.
- Tall By Design
The original Santro made the tall boy design car a familiar sight on Indian roads and the new Santro will remain true to its design roots. The new car will share styling cues from the i10 and i20, However, the new Santro will also incorporate Hyundai’s current Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy
- Updated 1.1 Litre Engine
The new Hyundai Santro will use an updated version of the old Santro Xing 1.1 liter four-cylinder engine. BS VI emission norms are cleared by the new engine, which will go into effect in 2020.
- AMT Gearbox
The new Hyundai Santro 2018 will be the first car from the Korean carmaker to be offered with an AMT gearbox. The “Smart Drive” system will be beared in the new AMT gearbox.
- Dual Tone Interiors
Black interiors and dual tone beige are some features of the new Santro. steering wheel and gear lever in black, and the upholstery will be in beige with the dash.
- Will Meet The New BNVSAP Norms
The new Santro will comply with the new Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program for vehicle safety systems, including airbags and ABS.
- Launch Date
The New Hyundai Santro 2018 will be launched in October in time for the Dussehra-Diwali festive season to maximize sales. Prices for the Hyundai Santro are expected to start at around Rs 3 lakh, ex-showroom price.
